WUaS Idea- and Academic Resources[edit]
Ideas[edit]
Welcome to potential undergraduate students at World University and School applying in the autumn of 2015, and matriculating online in autumn 2016, and is planning to use the Common Application - https://www.commonapp.org/.
If you are a high school student actively interested in applying to this best STEM-centric OpenCourseWare World University and School in English, or know of one - with complete applications due by January 1, 2016, at 12 pm Pacific Time - please email WUaS now at worlduniversityandschool@gmail.com with this application information - http://web.mit.edu/admissions/ (See, too - http://www.princeton.edu/admission/pdfs/Common-App-StatementFinal.pdf). Here's the link to the developing Admissions at WUaS page - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Admissions_at_World_University_and_School. International students are welcome.
Counselors and Teachers:
You may email the recommendations and forms to us at worlduniversityandschool@gmail.com. Please put the student’s name and document type in the subject line. You also may send us hard copy by postal mail at PO Box 442, Canyon, CA 94516.
The admissions' process, to matriculate at World University and School, will resemble the admissions' process to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (http://web.mit.edu/admissions/). WUaS would also like its online students engaging MIT OCW to be able, as overachievers, to study for a year, on-the-ground, at MIT in Cambridge, MA, during their WUaS studies, and to increase academic collaboration with MIT in multiple ways.
Begin studying, teaching, learning or creating now at this online, free, wiki "College at WUaS," - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/The_College_at_World_University_and_School - or via this MIT Courses' page - http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/.
WUaS plans to accredit on best STEM-centric OpenCourseWare with WASC (WASCsenior.org), in California, for its first, matriculating, bachelor's degree class, in the U.S. and in English (to start), in 2015, and to graduate in 2019.
(Online, wiki, virtual World University & School, with its first, matriculating, bachelor's degree class in 2015, and with its free bachelor's, Ph.D., Law and M.D. degrees, accrediting on best STEM-centric OpenCourseWare, will be able to STUDY HOW students learn, quite rigorously, - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Research - because this will be mediated by the internet, and WUaS is offering these degrees for free. Reed College's undergraduate degrees, with its required 1st year Humanities course, its junior qualifying exams, and its senior thesis, plus a required freshman, WUaS biology class with computer programming requirements, and further widespread computer programming requirements, the equivalent of 32 Yale OYC / MIT OCW/great (and rigorous) courses over approximately 4 years, and with a significant STEM science/mathematics/engineering/technology focus - is the main model for WUaS's undergraduate degrees presently. WUaS hopes to collaborate richly with best STEM-centric OpenCourseWare in the process).
WUaS plans to offer something like 36 majors, based on these best STEM-centric OpenCourseWare 36 main subject areas - http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/ - as well as excel in science, technology, engineering and mathematics' fields.
WUaS will eventually accredit in at least 50-100 languages/countries, and as many as possible, to offer free, online, best STEM-centric OpenCourseWare degrees.
Accreditation to offer bachelor degrees is a 3 stage process, with WASC, with WUaS's first, matriculating, bachelor's degree class in 2015 (graduating in 2019). WUaS plans to graduate at least 1000 students, every year, with a bachelor's degree, in the online, free college.
WUaS is planning for a "Admitted Students' Day" for the first, matriculating bachelor's degree class, on or around the second Saturday in April, 2015, and the second Saturday of April for other degrees in the future.
World University & School may target smart phone mobile internet devices with video, and group text chat for the conference method - http://worlduniversity.wikia.com/wiki/Conference_Method_of_Teaching_and_Learning - of teaching and learning, as the bare minimum hardware to begin to study for a best STEM OpenCourseWare-centric bachelor's degree.
Standardized tests in respective countries will be part of the admissions process at WUaS, so, for U.S. accredited degrees, SATs for 'The College at WUaS,' GREs for 'Ph.D. degrees at WUaS,' LSATs for the Law School at WUaS, and MCATs for the Medical School at WUaS.
WUaS may engage Harvard's approach to "Holistic Admissions" for an Online Startup University - see below.
Publish my article in a WUaS academic journal in this subject[edit]
Open Journal Systems. 2012. Open Journal Systems. Public Knowledge Project.
(WUaS's wiki, information technologies and criteria for this - informed by the WUaS academic journal subject matter - are developing, since you can already publish your article at Academia.edu http://www.academia.edu or Research Gate - http://www.researchgate.net/ - or Spire - http://spire.sciences-po.fr/web/ - for example); See Library Resources below at WUaS for further resources.
